HANNAH STEADMAN

Hannah is someone who leads with empathy. Passionate, thoughtful and deeply engaged in the world around her, she cares about people and about creating spaces where others feel seen, heard and valued.

She describes herself as someone who loves connecting with others and getting involved in meaningful work. Whether speaking on issues around disability, education, or social justice, Hannah brings both lived experience and intention to everything she does. As a young person navigating multiple identities, she understands what it means to exist at the intersections and uses that understanding to advocate for others.

Her journey has been shaped by her experiences within the health and social care system. Rather than allowing those challenges to silence her, Hannah chose to channel her energy into something positive. She began campaigning, facilitating workshops, and speaking on issues that matter, including disability rights, pride and racial justice.

For Hannah, advocacy is not just about being heard, it’s about making sure others are heard too. She is intentional about creating spaces where people feel affirmed, where conversations are honest, and where inclusion is real, not performative.

Community plays a central role in her life. Having grown up in Croydon, she values consistency, connection and trust. She speaks about the importance of spaces where people can build genuine relationships, where there is chemistry, care, and a sense of belonging. For Hannah, these spaces are not optional, they are essential.

When reflecting on what this recognition means to her, she shared how much it mattered to feel acknowledged.

“Sometimes you do things ongoingly and feel forgotten about.”

Being recognised through The Salute was a moment that made her feel seen, valued and appreciated.

Looking ahead, Hannah is clear about her path. She hopes to continue facilitating, leading workshops and creating change, particularly working with adults, who she sees as an important audience for long-term impact. She wants to build a future rooted in her lived experience, using her voice to shape systems and improve how young people are supported.

We are proud to honour Hannah as part of The Salute — recognising her advocacy, her empathy, and the powerful way she continues to show up for others.
